CAMERA WORKIn our photo gallery, which was founded in 1997, not only do we present photo icons such as Man Ray, Irving Penn, Horst P. Horst, Peter Lindbergh, Peter Beard, Richard Avedon, Diane Arbus and Helmut Newton but we also exhibit young, up-and-coming artists who are just starting their careers. Most exemplary are David Drebin, Silke Lauffs and Martin Schoeller who have each had their first exhibitions in Germany with CAMERA WORK and have since then had impressive artistic developments.
Work with the camera provides an elementary condition with which we can understand photo art. Against this backdrop, our gallery attempts to rightly pursue the tradition of Alfred Stieglitz’s legendary magazine ‘Camera Work’. This is indeed expressed by our focus, amongst others, on vintage photography. The gallery has opened from Tuesday to Saturday, from 11a.m. to 6p.m.
