BIOGRAPHY
Born in France in 1971, Caroline Halley works as a photographer and video artist, fathoming old traditions and customs on her travels to remote places. After studying law and human rights at the Sorbonne in Paris, Halley worked for a variety of human rights organizations in India, Morocco, Vietnam, and Rwanda. She captured her impressions of this period in striking photographs. With her utmost concentration for the object and her minimalist approach, the photographer succeeds in creating exceptionally powerful and deeply spiritual pictures.
The project “Time and Silence” evolved within a period of six years (1999-2005) on a variety of expeditions in Afrika and Asia.
